Some say “art does not put food on the table.” Art has often been discarded as elitist, posh, and out of touch with reality. Contrary to such popular perception, artists indeed create to communicate. Without an audience, even the greatest masterpieces are but dead objects. In an attempt to instill art with life, artists and the public are now exploring new modes of creation and viewing.

Video curated by Videotage, “Image Bite” will show video artworks at eight restaurants in North Point from the end of March to June, taking art out of the confines of galleries and museums and into the realm of everyday life. In an experiment that brings artistic creation to the public, “Image Bite” aspires to break the traditional framework of art production and consumption. Who says we cannot have food and art in the same bite? A series of “cross-boundary activities” will also be organized during the program to create an artistic experience that emphasizes exchanges and audience participation through interaction between viewers and artists.

有人說：「藝術唔可以當飯食。」高深、小眾、離地、不切實際⋯⋯彷彿都是「藝術」擺脫不了的形容詞。其實藝術家之所以進行創作，無非是想與人溝通；欠缺觀眾聽眾，再偉大的藝術品亦不過是死物而已。藝術家與大眾一同開拓嶄新的創作與觀賞模式，也是一種為藝術注入生命力的嘗試。

由錄映太奇策展，「電視撈飯」將會在三月底至六月，於北角區八間餐廳放映錄像作品，讓藝術品不再囿於藝廊與博物館，而是進入生活日常。「電視撈飯」希望摒棄傳統藝術品生產與消費的框架，進行一場藝術創作與大眾接觸的新實驗。誰說咀嚼食物的時候不可以同時消化藝術？節目期間另備有一連串「過界活動」，透過觀眾與藝術家的互動，嘗試構築重視交流和受眾參與的藝術體驗。
